Overview

As the HR Manager, you make sure that our full-cycle HR processes are running smoothly: From hiring, onboarding, performance management and career development all the way to offboarding.

You are a critical part of the management team, improving our internal processes and aligning HR practices with the strategic goals of the company. You understand and preserve the company culture and create a healthy work environment. You are the mentor and coach for the people on the workfloor, and the escalation point for managers if there are HR-related issues in their team. You are the go-to person for employees to get guidance and advice on their work-life. Your mission is to create and facilitate a workplace filled to the brim with happy, productive people who thrive in their roles – not just for today, but also for the future.

OUTCOMES:

  • Creation and improvement of effective and streamlined HR processes
  • Finding, attracting and selecting the right people to join the team
  • Supervising the HR Administrator, coordinating the HR administration processes
  • Facilitating a smooth onboarding process for new employees
  • Coordinating performance management processes (assessments, peer feedback, manager reviews, raises, promotions, escalations)
  • Coaching of employees on personal development and general career topics
  • Supporting people where needed (confidential, “vertrouwenspersoon”), flagging any issues that need to be escalated to professional support
  • Serving as an escalation point for producers and other managers as needed
  • Managing the full “life cycle” of an employee, from initial contact to offboarding
  • Ensuring compliance with HR related laws and regulations and company HR policies
  • Facilitating great “peak experiences” such as the first day at work, promotions, team events etc.

ROLE BASED COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent listening skills
  • Well organized and structured way of working
  • Leadership skills; taking initiative, working autonomously, able to provide effective supervision and management to direct reports
  • Deep understanding of HR laws and best practices
  • Ability to make an initial assessment of candidates based on cultural fit and general candidate qualifications
  • Ability to work with people that have a wide variety of personalities, skills, nationalities and backgrounds (mostly creative)
  • Competent in email, HR systems, document systems (BambooHR, Google Drive)
  • Excellent coaching skills, focusing on effective goal-setting, personal development and career development
  • Willing and able to give and receive effective feedback
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations effectively and with minimal fall-out
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years experience with HR related roles
  • Read, write and speak excellent English
  • Able to work 32+ hours per week at our studio in The Hague
  • Plus: Read, write and talk excellent Dutch
  • Plus: Games industry experience
